Gender stratification is the unequal access to power, prestige and property for both males' and females'. Gender is important because it is a master status. No matter where we go, what we do or attain, we each carry with us the irrevocable label male or female. Through these stereotypical labels, images and expectations about how we should behave and act are attached, and criticized.
